Freeciv is a Free and Open Source empire-building strategy game inspired by the history of human civilization. The game commences in prehistory and your mission is to lead your tribe from the Stone Age to the Space Age. Freeciv is an addictive, turn-based strategy game, based on the classic Sid Meier's Civilization series. The story starts in 4000 BC, where you're the leader of a small, weak and extremely vulnerable tribe. It's an uncomfortable position, but if you're careful, and make the most of natural resources, then things will soon begin to change.
